A former Minister in the Government of Kerala, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening cooperatives and empowering rural communities.

Adoor Sethu

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Adoor Sethu is a seasoned entrepreneur with over three decades of diverse business experience. Beginning his entrepreneurial journey in 1987, he successfully established ventures in the medical, jewellery, and financing sectors under the Money Lending Act. His vision and leadership culminated in the founding of Travancore Rural Development Producer Company Limited (Travanco) in 2004—one of India’s pioneering Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs)—with a mission to transform traditional farmers into agripreneurs.
Over the past two decades, under his stewardship, Travanco has evolved into a trusted and profitable farmer-owned enterprise driving rural transformation across Kerala. The company has been instrumental in providing technical support, training, financial assistance, market linkage, and entrepreneurship development to thousands of farmers. Today, Travanco has a membership base of over 45,000 farmers who have benefited from its sustainable agri-livelihood initiatives.
Under his dynamic leadership, Travanco has maintained consistent profitability for the past 17 years and stands as a model FPC in India for self-sustainability, governance, and social impact. His ability to blend financial prudence with inclusive growth has attracted collaborations from leading financial institutions—most notably Federal Bank, with whom Travanco is jointly implementing a large-scale micro-credit and livelihood enhancement program targeting over 1,00,000 marginal farmers.
In recent years, Adoor Sethu has guided Travanco through a series of transformational growth initiatives that broaden its footprint across agriculture, finance, and enterprise development. The flagship Project Sunrise focuses on integrated mushroom cultivation clusters in partnership with Panchayats, the State Horticulture Mission (SHM), and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK), empowering small and marginal farmers through technology, training, and buy-back systems that enhance their agricultural income and resilience. The acquisition of Venad Finance, a registered NBFC, marks Travanco’s strategic entry into the formal financial-services domain, strengthening its capacity to extend structured credit and financial inclusion solutions across Kerala under the RBI framework. Complementing these efforts, the Agri Mega Mart initiative integrates agri-input supply, market linkage, aggregation, and valueaddition—creating a scalable rural enterprise ecosystem that connects farmers directly with consumers and institutional buyers, while also providing modern agricultural equipment, quality seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs at highly competitive prices. Through this integrated approach, Travanco is enabling higher productivity, stronger market access, and sustainable income growth for its farmer members.
Mr. Sethu’s extensive entrepreneurial background and proven ability to build a successful, compliant, farmer-owned enterprise uniquely position him to provide strategic vision, governance, and regulatory stewardship for Travanco’s expanding agri-enterprise and NBFC ecosystem.
His leadership continues to embody Travanco’s founding ethos:
Empowering Farmers through Enterprise, Innovation, and Inclusion.
